THE
2010 HERON COVE TWILIGHT CONCERTS
Concert Schedule
The Heron Cove Concerts are a free venue that depends
entirely upon donations and modest grants to exist. Heron Cove Concerts
operates under the auspices of The Lightwing Institute in the Berkshires,
Inc., a 501 (c) (3) not-for-profit organization founded in 1993 to develop
creative venues in film, television and internet. In 2005, live performance
was integrated into these objectives.
Currently, the concerts offer a broad range of music, featuring many
fine local and regional artists, who enjoy performing in the heart of
our beautiful Berkshire scenery, and the intimate atmosphere of Heron
Cove. Directly adjacent to the Ashuwillticook Rail Trail, Heron Cove
has its own boat ramp and compound on the lake shore that can hold approximately
300 - 350 people. There is parking at and near the cove, but more parking
can be added as needed. Many people choose to sit in the small public
park across from Heron Cove, along the north pond of Cheshire Lake.
Others choose to listen from their kayaks and canoes. Local lakeside
residents frequently park their boats on the lake to enjoy the music.
During Concerts, the boat ramp is reserved for concert parking (boat
trailers are not able to park at the ramp during concerts, but small
handcraft can be carried in on foot). When there is no concert, Heron
Cove is available for catered events, such as weddings and other private
celebrations, as well as corporate presentations and events.
We are an informal venue, sharing our site with a multitude of wildlife,
particularly Eagles, Heron, Swallows, Osprey, and many others, often
seen flying over our stage. All are welcome. We do encourage donations
at performances, but no one is required to contribute. Our audiences
are as eclectic as our music throughout the summer, attracting teens
and young adults, to entire families including babies and grandparents
- even the well behaved dog is permitted!
